I've never met Chris Brockway, but I have drunk a lot of his wine and have developed a bit of a man-crush on him for a few reasons. For starters, he is producing some of the most exciting and energetic wines in California, all from varietals most have never heard of. They are wines that speak of place and purpose, with flavors that aren't masked with over-ripe fruit and oak. These are some of the most food friendly wines you will encounter, and they are easy on the pocket book as well. The only problem is finding them! He even makes a "White Zinfandel"...yes, you read that right, and it's bone dry and utterly delicious! Lucky for you and me, I set some aside in the Spring of 2015 with the idea of pouring it at this dinner! Come share a table at the dinner of two Chrises, where we will pour the following four wines paired with food by Chris Shepherd.
2014 Broc Cellars Picpoul, Luna Matta Vineyard, Paso Robles
2014 Broc Cellars White Zinfandel, Sonoma County
2014 Broc Cellars Vine Starr Zinfandel, Sonoma County
2014 Broc Cellars Carignan, Alexander Valley
